Weather Station

Okay, I am a closet weather geek.

The problem with looking at the online weather in Coffs is that the council has it placed near the beach, so when tourists look at the weather trend they see a temperature that is 5 or more degrees cooler than what it is inland. So I want to know what it is at my house and how much rain we have had at my house. Not too much to ask???

This is the station I am leaning towards for the below reasons.

• I wanted Wireless (WiFi)
• Rechargeable batteries in Station head
• Good charting software
• Ability to see what the weather is at home remotely (can just log into your home router to see data)
• Looks sexy (like me)
• Able to submit data to community (wunderground)

This unit is pretty much their top of the range model, it comes with the software and also has separate indoor/outdoor humidity sensors. Not overly expensive. The Davis unit is pretty much the ants pants, but to get into the basic level starts around $250.  This station goes a bit further than the others and has good online reviews.

I paid around $200 for the colour HD version of the Kindle. Good because you can web browse on it as well as download some 'apps' for it, so like a mini tablet. Very good on battery power.Have not even tried the sound of it yet! But I believe you can Netflix out of it, now that's another blog article.....

This is the latest book (kindle) from David Thorn, you may have heard his spider joke for an over due account, no, then OVERDUE , or the missing cat Missy. I have all David's books, the wife and I get a good laugh out of them. Much more material in the books and he is quite witty with his email responses. If you are into Arduino's or would like to start, It's Okay, I don't know how to program them either, I would recommend getting starter kits like this on Ebay,
Then go to the Arduino home page and download ready made programs. There are heaps of therm on the net, most of them will give you step by step instructions on how to setup and run your first program. So many options with these little beauties.
